Our History and Status
The Belgian Jockey Club was created in 1888 to regulate and administer thoroughbred horseracing in Belgium.
It is a non-profit organisation registered as an association sans but lucratif under Belgian law.

The Belgian Jockey Club is allowed by decree to use the word Royal in its denomination.

‍In 2013, the Belgian Jockey Club celebrated its 125th anniversary.
Our Mission
Nowadays, it is the racing authority in charge of National Hunt racing in Belgium.  It has also authority over gentlemen riders and lady riders in Belgium.
Over time, the Jockey Club issued rules and regulations for flat and National Hunt racing in Belgium and was responsible for the Belgian and Luxembourg Stud Book.
The Belgian Jockey Club works in close cooperation with the Royal Waregem Racing Society and the Royal Club of Gentlemen Riders and Lady Riders in Belgium.

President
Philippe Casier is the Chairman of the Royal Waregem Racing Society.
Thierry Lohest
Vice President
Thierry Lohest is the Chairman of the Royal Club of Gentlemen Riders and Lady Riders and a former Chairman of the International Federation of Amateur Riders (Fegentri).
Thierry Storme
Thierry Storme is the Deputy Chairman of the Royal Waregem Racing Society and a successful owner and breeder.
Koen Huybers
Koen Huybers is commissaire de France Galop.
